How to Manage the Stress of Exams?
The student life is considered as the golden time of the whole span of life. It is full of hopes, dreams, ambitions, youth and lots of promises of a bright future. But, yet there are factors that can convert it into a nightmare. One such factor is the stress of exams, which haunts almost each and every student up to a certain extent. The quantum of stress varies from individual to individual and largely depends on the person’s attitude.
It is seen that many times, the stress prevails over the minds of the students and they may take extreme steps in order to get rid of it. We are aware of many suicides cases of students – because of the immense pressure, which they couldn’t with stand anymore.
Life Coach Jasmin Waldmann says: “Students should understand that they are fully equipped to handle this stress in a mature and far better way and they should never turn to the habits like smoking, drinking, over-eating or not eating at all.”
These things may give them some temporary relief in the initial stages but eventually they will lead them towards destruction. The students should remember that they have immeasurable energy and that they can fight with this stress and emerge out triumphantly.
Jasmin Waldmann says, it’s far better to prevent the loss than to cure it later, it is very advisable to students to plan their studies in the earlier stages only rather than getting stressed later. They should start studying well in time and not wait until the exams are round the corner. They should structure their studies right from the beginning by preparing proper time-tables and following them instead of resting assured till the last day. This requires discipline and will lead into a mental ease. ‘Last minute’ problems are a big cause of the increase of stress levels.
According to Jasmin Waldmann, the students should work upon improving their daily routine as well and take enough care of their body. After all, a healthy body can provide a stress free mind and can keep you relaxed and calm even in adverse situations.
The optimum sleep of eight hours a night to tranquilize their mind – should be a must.
They need to eat clean, stay happy and nutritious food to keep their body fit and healthy, do some kind of exercise and pursue some hobby of their choice to stay cheerful. These are the simple ways by which the students can keep calm even in the exam days and achieve good results.
Also parents should be number one as supporter!
We wish you all the best!
